Chosen Generation serves as the young adult ministry of Lakeside Worship Center. This ministry has a target age range of 18-30 and is pastored by Caleb and Desiree Fitzgerald. They have a vision of setting young people on fire for God and seeing young people fulfill their God ordained purpose.
Stir and ignite hearts of purity that empower young people to live consecrated lives for Jesus
Ignite a prayer fire in young people to bring change to our generation and to birth the kingdom of God
Develop young people to value reading, listening, and speaking the uncompromised Word of God
Develop young people to value the full counsel of God (The entire Bible)
Build a community of young Christians who do life together
We typically host bible studies for young adults once or twice a month. These bible studies are informal and typically involve a meal. In these bible studies, we break down and discuss the word of God, we share revelation amongst one another, and we also give opportunities for questions.
Every Monday at 9 PM, we gather virtually for a time of intercession. These calls are typically one hour long. In this prayer gathering, we teach on prayer for about 10 minutes. Then we take turns praying with one another. Many begin the prayer calls by just listening in to learn, then they are compelled to pray themselves. We also give opportunites to ask questions, share prayer requests, and personal revelation.
Once a month, we gather together virutally or in person for what we call a "prayer stretch". The purpose of this gathering is to expand/stretch our spiritual capacities. Typically this time is spent praying in the spirit (praying in tongues) for a set amount of time. And as the Lord stirs us to pray into something specific, we begin praying in our known language. Essentially, every 3 months we increase the duration of prayer time incrementally.
At Chosen Generation, we recognize the importance of fellowship. Our official fellowship events are monthly. We try to do fun activities with one another to stir a sense of friendship and community. But outside of our official gatherings, we fellowship with one another all the time informally. We have learned that at our fellowship events, many friendships are ignited. And naturally, when you make friends, you desire to see them more often which leads to fellowship outside of an official event.
Every January, we use the Bible YouVersion app to complete the Bible in one year. This app allows us to see the progress of one another and to share revelation. We have been doing this for two years, and we have seen various young adults finish the Bible completely for the first time. This has caused our body of believers to become more mature in the Word, and has given us a better understanding of the general picture of the Bible.
Chosen Generation is not a church, Chosen Generation is connected to the local body of Lakeside Worship Center in Elizabethtown, KY. The ministry of Chosen Generation is an extension of Lakeside. All our events operate under the covering of Lakeside and we are essentially carrying out the vision that God has given to our local church, but we are just targeting young adults.
